America, China, Russia, these three are the giants that hold tremendous influence over each other and should co operate towards sustainable systems but you cannot feel the same level of sadness and thoughts when you hear a women who you did not know was raped or a young soldier was captured and killed in War, unless you knew them personally and loved them dearly and since a lot of us have not witnessed the reality of life, which lies outside of the cocoon of the modern age society.

We are political beings, emotional beings capable of logic and not the other way around. You can teach a young distressed kid to shoot heroin up their veins or teach them confidence, assertiveness, business, basically how the world works… (and remember, people learn much much better when there is a threat lurking around) … with a little to medium sprinkle of selfishness and we can see the journey unfold. Both individuals, crazily disciplined, the only difference is, one is fucking up his own body and the other, is fucking the world, and one knows what he is messing up and the other does not.

This collapse is imminent but not next door. A few doors in.

  2. jessica miller says:

I feel like in order to achieve this our government would have to become very strict in what we're allowed to consume or even make, not necessarily a bad thing but it would not be what we're use to and that would creat discomfort for everyone else except for that rare few.

  3. Kurt Klingbeil says:

One additional factor to consider in this is the per-capita accumulated resource consumption / effluent emissions.

The 32:1 figure is presumeably based on current consumption/emissions

Western societies have been built on centuries of resource extraction & consumption and effluent emissions – often at the expense of the global South which is more recently getting into the game

We, having already maxxxed out our eco-credit-cards presume to tell the South that We can't afford their "pre-paid" spending ?

Project DrawDown identied the #1 most effective solution to excess GHG as the combination of educating girls and family planning (i.e. contraception)

I believe I read that the cumulative loading of a child born in the affluent West can be as much as 1000x that of a child born in some parts of the global South.
